NASP-COLLEGIO CARLO ALBERTO DAYS
FRONTIERS OF METHODS IN SOCIAL AND POLITICAL SCIENCE
26th - 28th June 2024
Collegio Carlo Alberto
Piazza Arbarello 8, Torino
This three-day in-person workshop will expose NASP students to a range of frontier methodological approaches, including experimental and quasi-experimental approaches, qualitative and mixed-methods, and survey data research.
Drawing on their own research, invited scholars will focus on how to go from research questions and hypotheses to selecting, and discarding, methodologies. These methodological choices will be explained in reference to a wide range of topics central to social and political sciences, such as social norms, conflict, intergroup relations, family issues, and education.
NASP students are invited to present their own doctoral work and receive comments from attending scholars and students. Student presentations will last approximately 20 minutes with 25 minutes of open discussion.
The NASP-CCA workshop is jointly organized by the Collegio Carlo Alberto and the Ph.D. programs in Economic Sociology, Organization and Labour Studies (ESOL) and Political Studies (POLS) at the University of Milan.
