118 Is the National Ambulance Number (as known as "Pronto Intervento") to call only when in need of an ambulance. For first aid ask for "Pronto Soccorso" and be ready to provide your name and address. Guardia Medica provides medical consultation and can send a doctor to help: tel. 02 34567.
In Italy there are 2 police forces:
112 Carabinieri - military police. Remember that 112 is the pan-European emergency number, where it's easier to find someone speaking English.
113 Polizia – Police.
115 Vigili del Fuoco (Fire brigade).
116 Car breakdown assistance.

Milan pharmacies are normally open Mon-Fri 8.30 - 12.30 and 15.30 - 19.30, Sat. 8.30 - 12.30.
Every pharmacy displays a list of pharmacies open at night and on weekends, and there are some 24-hours pharmacies such as Carlo Erba (piazza del Duomo, 21) and Stazione Centrale Pharmacy.
