Abstract

In this course, we will, on the basis of an existing research topic, go through all the steps of analyzing a causal model with latent variables. Firstly, latent variables/concepts will be operationalized using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA); secondly, causal relations between these latent variables and background variables will be estimated (SEM); thirdly we will test whether these CFA and SEM results differ between countries using the multigroup analysis option. All analyses will be done in STATA. The course/workshop will be in eight meetings of two hours each and will be a combination of lectures and computer labs.
