Born in 1961, he holds a PhD from the University of Padova (1995). He graduated in Law (1985) and in Political Sciences (1989) in Milan, where he is Full Professor since 2005.
He teaches International Relations at the Graduate School in Social and Political Sciences of the University of Milan. He also teaches International Relations (basic and advanced) within the undergraduate program of the Faculty of Political Sciences.
His research interests are focused on the area of security studies, theory of alliances, transatlantic relations, as well as in the European tradition of International Relations Theory.
